Mountain Life Vail Valley Reopening May 31st

Hey Mountain Life! We are so excited to see some of your faces again!

This Scripture speaks right to where our hearts are for you all:
“But we, brethren, having been taken away from you for a short time in presence, not in heart, endeavored more eagerly to see your face with great desire.” - 1 Thessalonians 2:17

As Eagle County transitions to the BLUE phase of reopening, our Vail Valley campus can begin the process of getting back to church, in-person!

We realize that some of you are not ready for in-person worship experiences yet, and that's OK! We understand. Especially if you are in an at-risk group, please consider not attending just yet. We will continue to pour the same level of energy, excellence and love into our online worship experiences as we have for the past couple months. We're not forgetting about you, and we don't want to sacrifice your experience for those who can make it in person.

However, as we are able, we do want to resume our in person worship experiences for those who would choose to attend. After spending much time on the phone & email with the county, and even with the governor on a group call for churches, we believe we have a great, safe & creative plan to phase back in and re-open for those who would like to join us in-person.

Here's what you can expect:
  • Two morning worship experiences (9:00am & 10:30am) in the auditorium at our Broadcast Campus (VCHS)
  • One evening worship experience OUTDOORS on the back lawn at our Broadcast Campus (VCHS)
  • Our morning services will feature a full worship band & high quality production much like what you've experienced online recently.
  • Our outdoor evening service will feature a scaled back, casual acoustic vibe fitting for an outdoor event. Please bring your own chairs or a blanket.
  • You MUST sign up to reserve a seat for any of our 3 services. Seating sign-ups are limited, on a first come, first-served basis, with family groups socially distanced by six feet.
  • Registration link will be live at 10am on Monday each week for the following Sunday's worship experience. Please only sign-up if you plan on attending, and cancel your registration if your plans change so we can allow any waitlisted members to attend.
  • Masks or face coverings will be required for entry and exit of the building, and in situations where social distancing is not possible. Masks will not be required during the service, as we will have implemented social distancing by seating. However we do request that you wear a mask when you are singing if at all possible. We are making this request out of a heart to protect others, please be willing to love your neighbors in this way.
  • We will have the fire exit doors to the sanctuary open to allow for fresh air in the auditorium.
  • Masks are recommended, though not required, for Sunday Night Outdoor Services.
  • Hand sanitizer will be provided, and restrooms and contact surfaces will be cleaned regularly during and after services.
  • In-person Children’s Ministry will be reintroduced in the coming weeks. However in our first phase of opening, children are welcome to join parents in the main sanctuary or at our evening service. More info on re-opening kids church soon.
  • To reduce the amount of contact as much as possible there will be no coffee or hospitality items available during the Blue Phase - please BYO coffee, water, etc.

To help reopening be successful, we all have an important part in continuing to be a strong witness for Jesus in our community. If you do plan to attend church in person starting May 31st, we ask that you pledge to honor the Five Commitments of Containment:

What does this mean for you if you're not ready to meet in person?
We will still be live streaming our church experiences online at 9:00 am, 10:30 am and 6:30 pm on all of the same platforms every Sunday, and we will still have online hosts and pastors available to chat and pray with you in our chat rooms. We understand that many of you feel safer at home and we fully support your decision. The Lord has worked powerfully during this season to create opportunities to bring people new people to know Jesus and we want to keep that momentum going! We encourage you to continue inviting your friends, coworkers, family and neighbors to join you online for church!

Let's do this church! Be on the lookout for an email Monday at 10:00 am when the signup links are live. A reminder that Sunday May 31st is Graduation Sunday, where we'll be honoring the hard work and diligence of our Mountain Life Seniors, as well as Pentecost Sunday, the day when the Holy Spirit first came upon the church! What a glorious way to return to gathering in His name!

Love in Christ,
Your Mountain Life Family
